Man Hat

My husband wanted me to make him a hat, but most of the free hat patterns I'd come across were pretty feminine looking.  Thankfully I'm a digger and after a while I came across this fabulous flapped hat pattern.  My husband loves the hat I made him, but thinks he looks silly with the flaps on - so the next one I make for him will be flapless...  Oh well - his loss.  I think the flaps look cute!

Superb Shawl in Progress

I found this fabulous pattern for a shawl from a 1915 Woolcraft publication.  It is just divine!!  I started it back in September, but it is sucking up a lot of yarn - especially because it is a crossed treble stitch - but how gorgeous it will be when I am done....

Puff-stitch Newsboy

I have decided to grow out my hair for the first time in about 20 years.  Of course, when you are growing out your hair it goes through a "What the bleep is that?!" stage which can last up to 4 months.  For this reason, I decided to make some hats to cover the godawful mess on my head until it is fabulous again.  I searched high and low and finally found the cutest newboy hat pattern by Mary Jane Hall.  I LOVE it and so do all of my friends.  Another great thing is that it is an easy and quick to make hat.  In fact, I've made one for almost all of my friends now and they are thrilled with them.  Here is a pic of my hat:

First Post...

This blog is an attempt to document my creations as they happen.  Since I have already created many things, I will simply post a link to photos of the items in my next blog entry. 


I have been crocheting since I was 8 years old, but had lost the passion for it until about 6 months ago...  Now I'm a crocheting maniac!  I have also taught myself how to knit (which I'm still working the knots out of that), how to make earrings, and have picked up on some sewing projects.  I would like to write a blog entry about each item I create including photos, links to patterns and materials and notes about the project as I work on it.  Of course being super busy (like everyone else) it may fall by the wayside a little...  Wish me luck and stay tuned!
