Latest Additions

Things have been pretty crazy around here with the moving and the organizing and the garage sale and the going out of town - twice...

But I managed to get some crocheting done...

I can't seem to find the pictures of the Berets, handwarmers and scarves I made for my niece... I did one set in the colors of Wellesley (where she will be attending in the Fall) and one set in goth purple and black.  I also made a newsboy cap for my sister-in-law in black and grey and I made my nephew a cute winter hat in black and camo.

For me, I made another cute hat:

I have almost finished my Dad's x-mas present - a blanket... and I have 4 different newsboy caps just waiting for their brims...  I'll put up some pics when I finish them ;)

I even managed to sew an
apron for washing
dishes!

Now I am getting ready to start sewing some Ren Fair gowns so I will look smashing come August - when our contract begins...  Oh, don't worry - I WILL be crocheting more, and more, and more...

Movin' on up...

Well, it's been a while since my last post, but don't think I have been slacking off...  I have successfully moved into my new home - YaY!, finished 2 more newsboys and a baby blanket (Whew)!  I can finally start finishing up my poor dad's Christmas present (another afghan - yeah I was a little over zealous this year...)

I have also adopted 3 more rats and started fostering a sweet, but precocious, beagle!  And now for the pictures...

Viva La Mexico!

After seeing the Man-Hat I made for my husband, his friends decided that they also wanted one each, but with a twist.  They didn't want the flaps, but the did want them done with the colors of the Mexican flag in the brim.  Hence one new Man-Hat with a second one floowing closely behind...

See original post Man-Hat for more details on this pattern.

$$ALE!!!

Woot! I just sold the two scarves I have listed on Etsy! I have a pink one I need to post and I'm going to make 1 black, 1 grey, and 1 white very soon. I also just got another custom order from a woman I used to work with - 2 hats and 2 scarves.

Hopefully my business will take flight and

Sweet V-Stitch Scarf

I made my mom a really cute black hat with a white brim over the summer and she wanted a matching scarf that was long enough to fold in half and tuck in the ends.  I found a scarf pattern that fit the bill at the Lion Brand Yarn website.  I changed it up a bit and it came out perfectly!

Pretty Scarf Pattern

I found an aboslutely adorable scarf pattern by Marie Anne St. Jean.  Because she so graciously permits crafters to sell items made with her pattern, I made two scrumptious scarves and posted them for sale on Etsy.  Here are the pics:

These scarves were really easy and quick to make and they are soooooo pretty.  In fact I made one for myself in soft pink ;)

Cold Hands?

I love little fingerless gloves and mitts -- they are so cute.  I found some really great patterns for different types of fingerless mitts, but my favorite is a ruffled mitt made with a fpdc, bpdc rib stitch.  I made a pair for a friend and then decided that they were too cute to not have a pair of my own.  Unfortunately the rib stitch pattern didn't match my really cute scarf, so I modified the pattern to use a double v stitch (like in the scarf) and kept the ruffle on the end.  They turned out adorably, but I have a little trouble with them sliding up and down my hands.  I think they are too big at the ruffle end ;)

I'll post a pic just as soon as I get my camera back from my mom ;}
